마디풀과의 교목으로 남아메리카, 수리남원산.
영명은 Long John, Mulato Tree, Ant Tree, Vara de Maria이고 학명은 Triplaris surinamensis, Blochmannia weigeltiana, Triplaris cumingiana이다.
